Why Cart Pusher who Dropped out of Medical School wasn’t Readmitted - UI

 The University of Ibadan (UI) has explained why Mr. Korna Anongo Terhemen who dropped out of medical school was not re-admitted. Terhemen, 43-year-old had in a recent interview with a popular news platform, narrated how he dropped out as a 500-Level medical student at UI and ended up a porter, pushing a wheelbarrow for a living in Gboko town, Benue State because of depression. A statement released by the school’s Director of Public Communication, Olatunji Oladejo, entitled ‘Facts about Mr. Korna Anongo Terhemen who dropped out of UI medical school’, explained that Mr. Korna had ceased to be a student of the institution, having not registered for 14 years, out of which he had severally been away without any form of official permission Terhemen was admitted into the University of Ibadan in the 1996/97 session (as a medical student) and by 2000 he moved on to the University College Hospital before dropping out. When I asked my parents why I should go to college, they gave me nebulous reasons that I still cannot understand: "You need to find yourself.", "Roundout your knowledge.", and "Because it's what you're supposed to do after high school, like everybody else." Many years ago, I attended a private college. I already knew what I wanted to study, Spanish. The philosophy of this college was "old school" hard, designed to "weed out" the weaker students. I managed to fail all my first semester classes, which included: Biology, Calculus, Humanities, except for beginning Spanish, the only class I liked and studied diligently. I wished I could have taken more Spanish classes that semester, but, since I failed the other three, I had to retake them in a year for a lower grade.
